OpenProto

A small toolkit for describing message formats once and generating readers and writers for several languages.

Why

Many projects hand-write the same parsing code in two or three places. OpenProto keeps a single schema file as the source of truth and generates the boring parts, so the wire format and the code cannot drift apart.

Status

The format is stable enough for personal projects. Breaking changes are announced on this page before a minor release. Current schema version: 0.6.
